UN-NUN is a group created for artists, writers, and producers working in art, design, and the entertainment fields. Established by three Japanese artists and writers in New York in 2003, our mission is to support and encourage emerging talent particularly those who are pursuing their careers outside their native country and/or who have a relationship or interest in East Asia.
Our chief objectives are focused in two areas: publications and productions. UN-NUN: Essays on Art, Design, and Entertainment is a monthly paper providing a place for artists and writers to share their thoughts/reviews on art and also provide them with an opportunity to promote their creative activities. Through this publication, we have introduced more than 50 emerging artists including filmmakers, photographers, museum curators, musicians, and fashion designers. The publication is made possible with support from the Donald Keene Foundation for Japanese Culture. UN-NUN Productions is an independent film/video production company that recently produced an hour long documentary, Shall We Sing, which was broadcast on PBS. |
